Today&#8217;s Repair Cafe took place in the reception from 9am -12.   Items brought in included two toasters, two stereos, a TV and some fairy lights.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you to our fixers and helpers, and to everyone who brought items in to be repaired at our Repair Cafe this morning. Simon and to a lesser extent, Jonathan, fixed and advised lots of people including the town&#8217;s mayor! Jane was less busy offering her sowing skills and Judy kept everyone happy and organised us all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you also to everyone for the very positive response to our new Energy Savers project. Looks like we have some work to do on this, with lots of really useful feedback received from people today. Repair Cafes are completely non-commercial. There are no promises and no guarantees, but if something can be saved our repairers will give it their best efforts. Repairers are always keen to teach you how to do the repair \u2013 or at least have you watch while they do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no charge for entry or repair but donations are gratefully received and help pay for costs. You can basically bring anything you can carry that will not make a mess in the venue. Whatever it is, it might not even be broken \u2013 just dirty, and you don\u2019t know how to clean it without damaging it \u2013 or you can\u2019t work out how to use it without the manual \u2013 bring it along next time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The next Repair Cafe will be in the reception on Saturday 13th November from 9am -12, and then every 2nd Saturday in the month (excluding December).
