After the success of this year\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/madewithmany.org\/black-history-month-2021\/\">Black History Month<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/madewithmany.org\/diwali\/\">Diwali<\/a>&nbsp;events, Made With Many\u2019s Black Community Forum have set up two further activities in Wellingborough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can enjoy two free celebrations of Kwanzaa at the end of this year and the beginning of 2022! Kuumba or Creativity will be celebrated at&nbsp;Greetings From Kwanzaa on 31st December&nbsp;and a celebration of all Seven Principles of Kwanzaa is happening on&nbsp;1st January 2022, both at Wellingborough African Caribbean Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The festival of&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kwanzaa\" target=\"_blank\">Kwanzaa<\/a>&nbsp;is celebrated every year from 26th December lasting for seven days and coming to a festive end on 1st January. For those seven days, each day a different principle is highlighted \u2013 Unity, Self-determination, Collective Work and Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose, Creativity and Faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/wellingboroughecogroup.org.uk\/eco\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/MWM-Kuumba.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wellingboroughecogroup.org.uk\/eco\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/MWM-Kuumba.png 800w, https:\/\/wellingboroughecogroup.org.uk\/eco\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/MWM-Kuumba-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/wellingboroughecogroup.org.uk\/eco\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/MWM-Kuumba-768x576.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Come and celebrate the 6th principle of&nbsp;Kwanzaa, \u2018Kuumba\u2019, or \u2018Creativity\u2019 on the sixth day of Kwanzaa, Friday 31st December, 2pm-5pm. &nbsp;A free event for the whole family with an amazing line-up of artists leading on fun with creative activities that everyone can participate in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/387668725179395\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cinnamon Arts Group<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 Creating a Kwanzaa banner with creative input from everyone<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/lemonpopworkshops.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lemonpop Workshops<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 Make your own Kwanzaa Card and help create a Kwanzaa Canvas<\/li><li>Gerry Elliott \u2013 Creating the music of Kwanzaa giving everyone a chance on the drums<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Alliouagana-Pearl-2364991426848831\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Words by Alliouagana Pearl<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 Storytelling and colouring activities for the children<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Followed by some light refreshments and a chance to win some prizes in a Kwanzaa Quiz! Visit WACA at 27-29 Rock Street, Wellingborough NN8 4LW [<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.uk\/maps\/place\/WACA:+Wellingborough+African+Caribbean+Association\/@52.3036215,-0.6996706,18z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x4877a16dca83dc37:0x129b5633ab930d4c!8m2!3d52.3035474!4d-0.6997215\" target=\"_blank\">link to map]<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Made With Many Programme Extended<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"159\" height=\"170\" src=\"https:\/\/wellingboroughecogroup.org.uk\/eco\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Made-with-Many-logo.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-941\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Initially, Made with Many had received funding from the National Lottery for their programme of cultural activities in both Corby and Wellingborough&nbsp;from 2020 until 2023; and earlier this month,&nbsp;Arts Council England&nbsp;announced plans to invest further&nbsp;National Lottery&nbsp;funding in the Made With Many programme, to allow their work to continue until the end of March 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Helen Willmott, programme director of Made With Many, said: &#8220;We are thrilled that this additional investment from Arts Council England will enable us to continue the Made With Many programme across both Corby and Wellingborough, thanks to National Lottery players. We\u2019ll be able to continue to offer a wide range of creative activities to communities, putting local people in the lead of their own cultural experiences and working with incredible artists to co-create new work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Made with Many are a community-led arts programme covering Wellingborough and Corby, which produces events and activities designed to surprise, delight and inspire.  As that magical time of year approaches it has been great to see them support activities in the community that bring people together at Christmas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wellingboroughecogroup.org.uk\/eco\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/MWM-Bird.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2215\" width=\"196\" height=\"261\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wellingboroughecogroup.org.uk\/eco\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/MWM-Bird.jpg 443w, https:\/\/wellingboroughecogroup.org.uk\/eco\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/MWM-Bird-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 196px) 100vw, 196px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Their programme aims to encourage more people than ever before to take the lead in experiencing, creating and taking part in high-quality arts and cultural activities. Through conversations with local people and community decision-making panels, Made With Many puts the community at the heart of commissioning artists and producing new and exciting events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One example was when The Eloquent Fold&nbsp;(Made With Many&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/madewithmany.org\/associate-artists\/\">Associate Artists<\/a>, Carole Miles and Phiona Richards) visited the Daylight Centre at the beginning of December to run some creative workshops to decorate the centre.
