And how many regular volunteers do you have taking part?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Wellie Wombles was established by Freddie &amp; Georgina Harris in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, as part of the Wellingborough Eco Group supported by Jonathan Hornett. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Since setting the group up in Feb 2021, the group now has a following of 1.6k on Facebook, where we share all the amazing news about our Womble journey in the community. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Freddie has also helped set up several other groups including the Rushden &amp; Higham Ferrers Litter Wombles in January 2024, alongside Craig Blacha who now co-ordinates the group efforts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"239.7\" height=\"auto\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/f049071c5c394cca10fa5aa00\/images\/c856ef9d-6da2-7367-14e9-f5abf1d566fa.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is the biggest problem your group faces?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On of the biggest problems our group faces is the recycling of Nitrous Oxide cylinders and logistically recycling other materials can be hard due to storage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is your proudest achievement as a group?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proudest achievement would be the dedication of our volunteers who rain or shine will be out picking in our communities. Their work makes our communities places we are proud to call home and we should all be proud of that achievement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"239.7\" height=\"auto\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/f049071c5c394cca10fa5aa00\/images\/c51e34bf-b9dc-4513-0f5a-b27eae78e0d9.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is the strangest thing your group has found during a clean up?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of our volunteers found a bag of hair wigs. Another found over 200 dumped bottles of urine in the forest!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"250.8\" height=\"auto\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/f049071c5c394cca10fa5aa00\/images\/b212a81f-decd-bac3-300d-ebe74b1e33cf.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you could give only 1 piece of advice to anyone thinking of becoming a Womble or setting up their own group what would it be? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s so satisfying and rewarding. There are so many great people you meet along the way and so many new places to discover on your doorstep that you probably didn\u2019t know about. Try something new!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wellie Wombles are now an official Wombles Community Group!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During The Wombles Community Charity &#8216;Womble on the Ground&#8217; visit at our Two Hour Tidy Up, Jason presented us with a certificate to officially recognise the Wellie Wombles as one of their Community Groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"250.8\" height=\"auto\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/f049071c5c394cca10fa5aa00\/images\/345b3e4d-8e45-4a20-41bb-a9a9fa0c1709.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is Craig with Orinoco and Jonathan with Waendel after being presented with our certificate!
