  1. Charity Status. JH still working on this. More work to do.
  2. Leaflet delivery JH to check if Live Team can deliver before the end of Jan so forms can be returned before next Repair Café. If not, Committee members can help deliver.
  3. Eco Hub being supplied by Food for Thought. JM had bought some washing up liquid from Food for Thought. TG to buy other consumables for the group there and all bottles to be labeled to advertise that they are refilled.
  4. Community Climate Change Champions. (Town Council’s “Why Wait” campaign) JS to email TG with council list so members can be emailed with the list of ideas for action. JH to set up web page, linked to Eco Group site with the ideas list. Possibly ideas to be sent out on a daily/weekly basis in future?
  5. Registration of Volunteers Form to be put on website to populate a spreadsheet, similar to Repair Café form. Spreadsheet accessible from tablet at all events. JH to inform when form is set up for use and JS to also add all Repair Café volunteers.
  6. Waendel Info and games stall on Sat and Sun. Committee to think of new eco games.
Committee/Friends to take part in Friendship Walk on the Friday.
Walking group at summer Carnival also to be booked for the Saturday and Party in the Park for the Sunday.
  7. Shop in Town Centre JG produced list of a variety of possible daily activities to cover a 2 week period if we can find premises for 2 weeks in town centre. Suggestions for premises were: Library (which could either be one day a week or a 2 week block, but is not very central, although they could help with publicity); Hemmingwell Skill Centre (also not central); The Energy Hub which
MTH is working on (JH to ask MTH). This to be followed up after the election.
  8. Project Updates
Tiny Forests Tiny (or Micro) Forest to be planted at Croyland School before end of March. Collaboration between NNC and Greatwell Homes but Greatwell are still fundraising for this. Committee agreed that we couldn’t take on any more fundraising at present.
400 trees are on order for Kilborn Park to be delivered in March for more planting there.
Nature Rangers Project started well. Activities fortnightly on Mondays, alternately at allotment and other wildlife areas. Sapling Savers/More Trees Now Lots of saplings donated are to be heeled in at allotment.
Repair Café Several new Fixers, one wood worker who could possibly be accommodated more easily outside in summer.

Wellie Wombles Community Payback scheme being set up with Probation Service. Two more members for Duke of Edinburgh Challenge.

Action for Happiness Possibility for Committee members to do a Course to be able to lead Happiness Actions at Happy Cafés if anyone interested. Time to Talk (1st Feb) and The Great (Winter) Get Together and in June, The Great Get Together (Jo Cox Foundation) to be tapped into to help advertise and develop the Happy Café events.

  1. Items to go in Council’s Well Informed Leaflet? JH to send JS updated project posters needed for Council Well Informed leaflet (deadline 19th Jan) and for Swansgate screen.
  2. Membership Numbers 68 (no new members this month)
  3. Accounts.
  4. Hustings It was felt that, owing to lack of availability of Glamis Hall and lack of time before the election, we would not be able to organise a hustings. Individuals to look into whether other hustings events are to be held elsewhere for the Wellingborough election so they can attend and possibly help publicise this.
  5. T Shirts Discussed possibility of new Eco Group T shirts and also Fleeces (made from plastic bottles and Cotton Sweatshirts). JS to look into.

Date of next meeting Tuesday 20th February 2024 6.30pm at ECO HUB
