Calling all Litter Heroes, help us defeat the Litter Monster!
Be part of our Litter Monster Carnival Float. We are following the monster as Litter Super Heroes, plus we’ll have a rubbish tricycle with two massive sharks.
Simply dress up as your favourite super hero, wear a Wellingborough Eco Group or Wellie Wombles hi-vis vest, hold a pickers and hoops, or something noisy!
We are setting up on Broad Green from 10am on Saturday 5th July, to parade around the town starting at midday. Do join us!
This Month’s Two Hour Tidy Up takes place on Saturday 28th June in Croyland Park. We will be setting up our Recycling Station from 9:30 in the car park on Kingsway, for litter picking between 10 and 12. We will be litter picking the whole park, and the nearby streets.
This location has been chosen because the following weekend is Wellingborough Carnival & Party in the Park in Croyland Park. As a group we have tidied up this area before, but not since December (see header image) so there’s a lot to do to make the park tidy again. See map below for the location (Kingsway Car Park is on the right):
To help us and keep us safe at this and future litter picks, Wellingborough Eco Group have some litter pickers, hi-vis vests and safety equipment including road signs, so everything is provided but please bring your own gloves if you can. Free cold drinks plus tea and Coffee will be available, hand sanitiser will also be available, do join us if you can, ALL WELCOME!
Wellingborough Repair Café will be in the VIP Lounge at Glamis Hall. We still have spaces for textile repairs, but electrical items are fully booked this month.

There is no Indoor Boot Sale this month, but we will have lots of second hand items at our special Saturday Swap Shop Big Electrical Clearance Sale and in ECO HUB for you to grab a bargain at:

Plus we will have loads of pre-loved items including clothes, books, toys, DVDs and our School Uniform Bank round the corner in ECO HUB.
Everything is available for a swap or a donation (any new items will be priced) plus there’s hot food and a cafe available too.

Eco Club is Wellingborough Eco Group for Kids, where we craft and play games 4-6pm every fortnight at ECO HUB. Join if you are a parent, guardian, relative, carer or friend who wants to do eco-friendly activities with your children.
This week, we are playing games outside because it’s going to be a hot one. There will be all sorts of games, a ball pit and crafts inside to make Fathers Day cards. Drinks, including tea and coffee for the adults also available.
Everyone is welcome, free entry, refreshments included.

🟢 Food Sharers will have fresh veg, fruit, bread and salads from Co-op and community friends. We have a few bargains too, including snacks, cans of drink, tins of food and more!
🟣 SUB (our School Uniform Bank) works just like Wellingborough Swap Shop, but includes school uniform and essentials with Greatwell Homes.

+ HOW TO FIX IT this Thursday!
Yes, we have our popular Wellingborough Repair Café this Saturday in Glamis Hall, but apart from clothes, it is all booked up again, so we are running How to Fix I.T. sessions too. These will take place 6-8pm on the second Thursday of the month at ECO HUB, which just happens to be this evening!
Pop into ECO HUB with your broken I.T. this Thursday for The Great Big Green Week, and we will try to Fix IT if we can!
If you have a broken computer, jammed printer, cantankerous console, trouble with your tablet or just a slow phone, bring it it and we will hopefully be able to help, and perhaps show you how to fix it! These sessions are just for information technology (I.T.) whatever the issue let’s see what we can do…
Join us this Wednesday for a Great Big Working Party at our at our Community Allotment for The Great Big Green Week. Meet at the gates of Ladywell Allotments at the end of Hillside Road at 9:30am or call Jonathan on 07311 705705 to get in before 2:00pm
Our Community Allotment is there to give people the chance to share skills and to grow plants. The site was cleared in 2020 and is now a user-friendly space to grow fruit, vegetables and other plants to benefit the community.
Anyone can volunteer at the Community Allotment, you don’t have to know anything about gardening and tools will be provided. Join our community for more preparation and planting including weeding and tidying, come and grow with us this Wednesday!
NOUGHTS AND CROSSES
Noughts and Crosses Polish community group provide a local network group for Polish families, offering wellbeing sessions, organising events to raise awareness and understanding of culture and heritage, providing tuition in polish language, arts, crafts and music sessions and environmentally friendly projects. Join them this Wednesday at ECO HUB 6-8pm.

Wellingborough Eco Group Nature Rangers, Wellie Wombles & Eco-Crafters
Wellingborough Eco Group is running a whole week of activities to inspire you again for the Great Big Green Week, and for the third day, this Monday there’s lots to join in with:
FREE RANGE
Our Fortnightly Monday sessions resume with a treat at our Community Allotment, as we will be sewing seeds and planting seedlings, meeting at 10am to help on our plot at Ladywell Allotments, out 10:30 till 1:30 to stop for lunch and discussions until 2pm.
These sessions are lead by Grow Wild Outreach and Wellingborough Eco Group, and they are open to everyone. Grow Wild Outreach will also offer the Monday sessions to those who need assistance and will provide a fully supervised service at a cost.
Don’t be nature strangers, be Nature Rangers!
Join us this Monday for a Free Range, 10am at our Community Allotment at Ladywell Allotments to continue to sew seeds and plant seedlings on our plot 10:30 till 1:30, let’s see what we can do!
Wellingborough Library will have a display about what Wellie Wombles for The Great Big Green Week, including a C.L.E.A.N. Presentation. The presentation has now been shown to hundreds of local school children, and by having it in the Library from this Monday until Saturday will hopefully educate and inspire more people to be more self conscious about littering.
