SAVING YOU MONEY AND THE PLANET!
Servicing Wellingborough, Rushden, Higham Ferrers and the surrounding area, Repair Club matches people who need stuff fixed with people who like fixing things.
There’s no promises and no guarantees, but if something can be saved, our repairers will give it their best efforts. There is no charge for a repair, but donations are gratefully received and help pay for costs.
Repair Club has been set up by Wellingborough Eco Group as part of the One Wellingborough Plus project, it work alongside our Repair Cafes at Glamis Hall. These usually take place during their Indoor Car Boot Sales, on the second Saturday of month, but have been on hold due to covid.
Repair Cafes are community events that match people who need stuff fixed with people who like fixing things. Repair Cafes are completely non-commercial. There are no promises and no guarantees, but if something can be saved the repairers will give it their best efforts.
Repair Club works in the same way. Some fixes might be able to be done virtually via this Facebook group with advice from one of our repairers, others will need collecting, fixing and delivering back, or dropping off at Glamis Hall or the Victoria Centre, and then collecting when repaired.
There is no charge for a repair or advice, but donations are gratefully received and help pay for costs. All you need to do is post a picture of the item(s) you want fixed with a description of what is at fault and a repairer will comment on your post.
Here are some suggestions of fixable items:
A bicycle, clothing in need of repair, small electrical or electronic appliances, lamps, toys, mobile phones, laptops, printers, items that need gluing, a clean/repair etc.
Whatever it is, it might not even be broken – just dirty, and you don’t know how to clean it without damaging it – or you can’t work out how to use it without the manual – post here. You can even post several things – though to be fair, you may have to join the virtual queue several times!
You can basically post anything that needs fixing, and we will see what we can do. Find out more at facebook.com/groups/repairclub or contact us using the form below:
