Wellingborough Eco Group and Wellie Wombles

This Month’s Two Hour Tidy Up takes place on Saturday 31st January in Croyland Park. We will be setting up our Recycling Station from 9:30 on Kingsway opposite the Kingsway Centre, for litter picking between 10 and 12. We will be litter picking the park, and the area around the path leading up to Sainsbury’s.

This location has been chosen by Victor, a local councillor, who has reported that this area is in a terrible mess. As a group we haven’t tidied up this area around the path before, so there’s a lot to do to make it tidy. See map below for the location:

To help us and keep us safe at this and future litter picks, Wellingborough Eco Group have some litter pickers, hi-vis vests and safety equipment including road signs, so everything is provided but please bring your own gloves if you can. Free cold drinks plus tea and Coffee will be available, hand sanitiser will also be available, do join us if you can, ALL WELCOME!

We are hosting Wellingborough Swap Shop‘s biggest ever Sale on Saturday 7th February 10-4 at ECO HUB and in Swanspool Pavilion and Gardens, and it’s a jumble! Yes we are bringing the humble Jumble Sale back with a bang, grab some bargains, fill your bags!

We have tables full of hundreds of clothes where you can fill your bags for just £1, plus there will be electrical items, DVDs, books, and toys in Swanspool Pavillion and ECO HUB will be open for even more bargains and Food Sharers for free food saved from supermarkets too!

There will be a Happy Cafe too, with homemade cakes, snacks and hot drinks. Come for bargains, fill your bags, stay for refreshments, join us for a huge Jumble Sale on Saturday 7th February, 10-4 at Swanspool Pavilion and ECO HUB. See the map below for the location…

Open Day and Craft Fair

• ECO HUB and Swanspool Pavilion, Wellingborough, NN8 2BZ

Last year Wellingborough Eco Group received a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund, which enabled us to pay an Activities Co-ordinator to organise and run all the projects and activities we have on offer. This has been a massive help in keeping all our projects going and initiating more activities from our new home at Swanspool Pavilion.

We would like to say thank you to all the National Lottery players, who make these grants to community projects possible, and so at this special event we are offering a free drink and cake for National Lottery players on presentation of a National Lottery ticket, Instant Win Game, or scratchcard (physical or digital).

We do hope you will come along with the whole family and see the crafts and general fun on offer on the day, and have a look to see if you would like to get involved in any of our groups and events in the future. The event will be held inside the Pavilion and maybe outside too, weather permitting.

Our activities are all based on the idea that we want to look after our local environment and each other.
