On the last Saturday of every month, Wellingborough Eco Group and Wellie Wombles carry out a two hour tidy up with numerous volunteers. We litter pick an area that is generally chosen by the previous months litter pickers, unless there’s an event to clear up before for.

Our Two Hour Tidy Ups started in September 2019 and, apart from a short break during the Covid pandemic, have litter picked most parks, open spaces and many streets in Wellingborough.
Everyone is welcome. To help us and to keep us safe, we have some litter pickers, hi-vis vests and safety equipment including road signs, so everything is provided but please bring your own gloves if you can. Tea, Coffee and snacks are always available, plus cold drinks in hot weather; hand sanitiser will also be available.
We set up for our Two Hour Tidy Ups from 9:30 for litter picking between 10am and 12 midday. Everyone is asked to book themselves in so we can ensure you return safely. When we are done, North Northamptonshire Council take away the bags of litter we pick.
If you would like to join us at our next litter pick please do keep an eye on our blog, forum or social media outlets. If you would like to do some litter picking at other times, you can individually or with friends and family with Wellie Wombles.
Wellie Wombles

If you want to tidy up, Wellie Wombles is a new litter picking group from Wellingborough Eco Group to help you. You can also share pictures and descriptions with each other of what you have picked up and share your hauls with Northants Litter Wombles.
Welllingborough Eco Group can even lend you the equipment and give you the bags! This service is available on our ‘Tuesday Tidy Ups’ 12-6pm and ‘Thursday Tidy Ups’ 10am-2pm at ECO HUB Glamis Hall, and six days a week at Wellingborough Library from 9am until 6pm.
